From excitement to resiliency, 2023 has been a year to remember. At Jackrabbit, our staff has worked harder than ever to bring new products, helpful events and content, and charitable contributions to our communities.
Let’s stroll down memory lane and reminisce on the 23 big Jackrabbit moments from 2023.
1. Company Growth
2023 was a year of growth for Jackrabbit. It saw 21 new hires in different departments across the company, making a total of 126 employees.
2. Jackrabbit Care
This past year saw the release of a new generation of child care software – Jackrabbit Care. The Jackrabbit Care team is full of experts focused on making a splash in the child care industry.
To empower child care center owners and managers, focusing on tools to enable efficiency and growth, and creating a well-rounded solution for those who may struggle with existing operational software, Jackrabbit Care was born.
3. Jackrabbit Pay
With both dance studio software, youth activities software, and now child care center management software, another gap was identified in the offerings Jackrabbit provides to their communities. Jackrabbit Pay, an affordable payment platform with no hidden fees is Jackrabbit’s newest venture.
Flawlessly integrating with existing Jackrabbit software and offering opportunities for studios, child care centers, or youth activity centers to save major dollars on transaction fees, Jackrabbit Pay is a solution made for our clients.
4. North Carolina’s Best Employer Recipient
In an exciting announcement, Jackrabbit was named one of North Carolina’s Best Employers of 2023. Sitting at the top of the list for Large Employers, Jackrabbit is thankful to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.
5. New Jackrabbit Mascot
The beloved bunnies are widely recognizable and got a major upgrade this past year. Not only did they get a makeover, they got their own names.

6. Jackrabbit Connect
Summer’s most exciting event took place in the middle of July! Jackrabbit Connect was a free learning event with 16 on-demand sessions, 3 live client panels, and over 10 hours of business-building content.
This event included sessions with 3rd Level Consulting, Gym Lawyers, TutuTix, OneTeam360 and topics like Zapier, employee engagement, and KPIs. It was a huge hit and packed full of information.
7. Jackrabbit Goes International
Jackrabbit went down under, to Australia that is! This is the first year that Jackrabbit has attended an international conference on this side of the world and we went big with the inaugural Dance Teacher Expo in Sydney, Australia. Amber and Debbie had a blast seeing new faces, visiting clients, and learning about the dance industry in Australia.
8. Self Check-In
Changing the way you take attendance, taking the pressure off your front desk staff, and offering a self-serve option for parents and families, it’s a win-win! Jackrabbit’s Self Check-In feature was released this past year allowing for youth activity centers and dance studios to enhance their parent experience. This feature is a free addition for current clients and can be hosted on the technology you already own.
9. Jerseys & Jewels
Each year, Jackrabbit is honored to participate as a sponsor in the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Charlotte’s Jerseys and Jewels event. This year was the fourth year of the event with the theme “keeping families close” and Jackrabbit assisted in raising over $200,000 and exceeding the fundraising goal.
10. Live Streaming in the Mobile App
Making the Jackrabbit Plus bundled subscription even sweeter, parents and families can now view live streams with Spot TV through their center’s mobile app.

11. 7000 Clients
Jackrabbit hit a major milestone and celebrated reaching 7000 clients. Our clients span all 50 states and 36 countries. The Jackrabbit team celebrated big in the 19th year of business and continues to embody the company’s core values.
12. Influencer Summit
Early May saw the invite of industry heavy-hitters across the country to the Charlotte area. The Influencer Summit’s purpose was to share information about current and future events within Jackrabbit and get valuable feedback from the people it would affect.
Connecting with business owners is one of the best perks of working at Jackrabbit and this summit was essential in helping plan for the future of Jackrabbit.
13. Gym Growth Week
2023 was the year of taking gym growth to new heights! Gym Growth Week was a week full of valuable insights, tips, and strategies to help gym owners boost their membership and create a thriving community. From September 25 through September 29, there were daily one-hour sessions presented by Jackrabbit and NextGen Gym Owners.
14. Ronald McDonald House Beautification
April showers brought May flowers with the Ronald McDonald House beautification project. A day where Jackrabbit employees got the honor of helping transform their healing garden, decorating cookies, and painting river rocks to honor families. Not only that, but we got to witness a ribbon cutting of the official Jackrabbit Technologies Main Staircase.
15. Client Visits
One of Jackrabbit’s Core Values is Connecting with Others and in 2023, every staff member made it a priority to visit at least one client to learn about their business and how they use Jackrabbit every day.
16. Smart Business Dealmaker Hall of Fame
Mark Mahoney, Jackrabbit’s CEO and Co-Founder was selected for the Smart Business Dealmaker Hall of Fame along with five other notable entrepreneurs in the Charlotte area. Recognized at the end of October, this lifetime achievement award acknowledged Mark’s leadership and support of other business owners and entrepreneurs.
17. Substitute Management
Life happens and when it does, knowing what substitutes you have available to cover class will ease any stress you may have about staffing. With Jackrabbit’s Substitute feature, you will be able to identify which instructors are available, prepare for upcoming coverage, assign class schedules and include the substitutes in class communication.
18. Zapier Integration
Knowing that many of our clients use a variety of software to meet their daily business needs, Zapier was introduced as Jackrabbit’s latest integration. This integration is the solution for easier management of email workflows, pipelines, and tasks. Eliminating the need for manual work, the automations offered will save you and your staff time.
19. Ronald McDonald House Vancouver Event
Jackrabbit’s home base is the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Charlotte and we got the opportunity to visit and volunteer at the Vancouver location! While there, Jackrabbit employees worked to package freezer meals for residents of the house.
20. NC Technology Associate Award
Debbie Near, our resident Enterprise Onboarding Coach was recognized at the North Carolina Technology Association Awards for her work as a rising star and difference maker in the Tech and Sales Marketing Category.
21. Online Registration
As one of the biggest releases in 2023 for Jackrabbit Care, Online Registration provides an opportunity for child care centers to boost their revenue. This feature assists with things like enrollment forecasting, waitlist management, and a reduction in manual processes.
22. Business Intelligence Dashboard Release
Reporting was a huge theme for not only Jackrabbit but our clients in 2023. With the release of the Business Intelligence Dashboard, clients get insight into over 30 key performance indicators. This dashboard makes reporting easier for multi-site programs and enterprise businesses too. It’s our client’s first step to making data-driven decisions.
23. 2024 Roadmap
While this technically won’t be released until January 9, the 2024 Jackrabbit Roadmap has been in the works throughout the entire year. Filled with updates and releases that are important to the clients and industries Jackrabbit serves, this roadmap will be a guide for what you can expect in 2024. Keep an eye on Jackrabbit channels for the update on when this roadmap is live!
