Celebrate Dr. Seuss and Reading

March 2 is a very appropriate day to kick off the National Education Association’s annual Read Across America campaign because it is Dr. Seuss’s birthday!

This year marks the 17th Read Across America Day (March 3. Many will gather to celebrate and share their love of reading. And for Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) it would have been his 106th birthday!

Dr. Seuss promoted
literacy and his books were transforming what children read and  how children learn to read. The NEA’s hope is that focus on this week will generate excitement about reading your-round.

What fun to feature a Dr. Seuss birthday party during Read Across America Week!!! Stores like Party City have fun party accessories to help you promote reading along with your main curriculum!
