Ace Dance Academy of Walnut Creek, California (www.acedanceacademy.com) hosted its highly anticipated student production, 2013 Holiday Student Showcase, in mid-December.
Earlier in the month Ace suffered a possible show cancellation when a water pipe burst flooding the expanse of the popular dance academy. Taking the rehearsal disruption in stride, Ace’s faculty sought out rehearsal space off-site so they could maintain momentum for choreographers and students and continue to prepare for the show.
During non-teaching hours, Ace faculty carefully lifted the Academy’s state of the art floating floor. As the floor was being dismantled, faculty discovered that a huge tree root system had broken through the concrete sub-floor and had been the true “root” of their problems.
After root removal, plumbing repair and new floor installation, the Ace faculty and students were proud that the show did go on! In fact, parents came away describing the choreography as “beautiful and original”, raving that the dancers were able to “express and outperform themselves”. Â
Ace Dance Academy holds a community wide reputation of being “a serious dance company where kids have fun and love to dance”.Â
Congratulations to Ace Dance Academy for turning set-back into an inspired 2013 Holiday Student Show Case!
