Community Activity is Powerful Marketing

We are “busy little bees” in the community! We rarely turn down a chance to perform in the community.

We even have special groups (Reach Out groups) at CK DanceWorks created just for that purpose! Our Reach Out groups were developed to give back into the community through the art of dance. We keep it wholesome, family oriented, and super entertaining!   These groups represent us at Nursing Homes, Community Festivals, small business grand openings, and private functions. We sometimes average over 12 functions – in addition to our recital – per year!

We also do really great things within our studio that are open to all kids – even those not registered at CKDW! We offer Princess Tea Parties (mostly as fundraisers for our older company students) where our Senior Group dancers dress up as Disney Princesses and lead dances. The dances are followed by a super cute tea and cupcake party! And, of course, all the little girls are dressed as their favorite princesses…

We celebrate holidays with our students and community. At Christmas time, we put on a “Nutcracker Breakfast” where we dance a 15 minute mini-Nutcracker as we serve a yummy breakfast to little girls and their moms. It makes for a truly magical morning.   Every Valentine’s Day, we host a Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart dance. This is a 3-hour party where the girls bring their dads as dates and dance the night way while dining on the most delicious treats around. We give away door prizes, pictures, and corsages. The evening creates special moments for dads and daughters to keep! This has been such a big hit that we put on two different dances this year!

We’re very busy during around Christmastime. We are very involved in giving back to community.

  • We collect boxes and fill them with items such a toothbrushes, non-perishables, and small toys for orphans through WorldHelp Christmas.
  • This past Christmas, we also collected used and new Barbies. We used the new Barbies as an gifts to a special program called “A Hope for Christmas” where less fortunate families are invited into a church to “shop” for gifts for their families. The old Barbies were used in decorating a BEAUTIFUL white Barbie Christmas Tree – complete with glitter, feathers, and tones of sparkles! Our Families were allowed to bid on the Barbie Tree – with all proceeds going to “A Hope for Christmas”.
  • We also make it a rule to sponsor one family at our studio during Christmas. It may be by buying them presents, collecting coats, or just helping with tuition, but we always make sure to help out.

Our community has really done so much for us. They have helped make us into the studio we are today and we want to give back as much as we can to them!   Our community programs are not just “marketing” – we genuinely love getting out there and providing something that is needed, whether it’s entertainment, help with tuition, clothes and toys or just spreading a little joy. It all comes back to us tenfold by the community becoming involved with us. Often community members attend our recitals – even if they don’t have children in the show – just because they like seeing what we’re doing. It’s rewarding and invaluable to develop a relationship with your community.
