Virtual Release Notes: Jackrabbit’s new time-saving features from April

If you know me, you know my favorite Jackrabbit topic is enhancements. Each month, my good friend Marie and I get together for what we call ‘Virtual Release Notes’ to talk about what’s new to the Jackrabbit application, what’s coming up next, and how you can stay connected with the latest Jackrabbit news.

If you haven’t joined us for one of these before, it’s a short webinar interview-style that informs Jackrabbit clients about new features so they can explore the ones they want to implement for their organization. Way more fun than reading a bunch of tech talk – right? We thought so!

Here’s what we talked about for the April releases.

April’s time-saving features throughout Jackrabbit Class

Last year brought a lot of challenges to the youth activity space, creating more work without giving more time. When the Jackrabbit Product Team started planning what they wanted to release in 2021, they knew anything that could save our clients and their businesses time was a must.

Many of the latest releases are capitalizing on that so you can do more in less time because we all know you deserve that vacation you have been waiting over a year for!

Q&A on Jackrabbit’s newest features

How will phase 2 of the Spot TV & Jackrabbit integration help admins?

Right before the global pandemic changed everything for everyone in 2020, Jackrabbit and Spot TV teamed for an exclusive partnership, making live-streaming classes in the Parent Portal a very exciting reality. With a secure top-of-the-line platform, many gyms and dance studios were able to reopen safely while meeting building restrictions with a virtual viewing room.

Recently, we took this integration up a notch. Jackrabbit clients that also use Spot TV can manage their cameras, camera groups, and much more all from the Jackrabbit application. With the ability to control everything from one place, you and your team are definitely saving time (and your sanity) with this addition. (—>Talk to the Spot TV team today!)

How can the All Classes upgrade streamline tasks?

The Next Generation Experience of Jackrabbit has brought along some incredibly powerful features like the smart grids, data visualizations, and custom views in our new core pages – All Families, All Students, and All Classes.

The All Classes page was the last of the bunch and with it being the most important way to search for important information related to classes, we knew we needed to perfect it before we rolled it out to everyone. The time is now!

We’ve upgraded our List All Classes to the new All Classes page so you can do more from one place and much quicker. This powerful page not only allows you to keep a pulse on your classes and enrollment, but you can also target messages (emails, texts, or push notifications) based on specific classes that you need to reach! What are the benefits of having a registration fee setting by class?

Do you have separate sessions for your ‘regular’ season and your summer classes or camps? If you answered yes, this one’s for you!

Oftentimes our clients charge registration fees for their main session of classes but not for the programs they offer in the summertime. Historically, Jackrabbit allowed you to either charge a registration fee to everyone automatically when they register or skip the registration fee for all new registrations.

And this is where I can’t contain my excitement. Now, you can choose on a class level if there should be a registration fee charged or not. That means all those summer intensives, classes, and camps can be eliminated from the auto-posting of registration fees when new registrations are submitted. *insert happy dance here*

Now, if you don’t automatically charge registration fees for new online registrations, not to worry – nothing will post! It’s as if that setting doesn’t even exist. (—>Check out the full details of this new setting here)

What’s next for Jackrabbit enhancements?

As if it could get any better, the fun doesn’t stop here. Jackrabbit’s Product Team has more exciting features on the way!

Features currently in beta testing

Beta testing is a great way for us to get a new feature into the hands of a small group of clients so they can test out the functionality in real-life scenarios. Not only does this help build the feature the right way, but it gives our clients the chance to truly make a difference in the software.

To make sure that we are on the right track for some exciting features, we currently have beta testers for:

  • Set it and forget it: automated tuition posting
  • Require payment in the Parent Portal for new enrollments

Both of these features go along with our ultimate goal of 2021 – saving you and your team your most valuable asset, time! More to come on these features soon.

Next up on the 2021 Product Roadmap

In addition to what is in beta testing right now, we also have some upcoming features that are already in development.

  1. Simplified Menu – our team surveyed, tested, and collected feedback from multiple channels to finalize the new menu so that it works for you and your team.
  2. Set it and forget it: automated payments – as a second piece of the set it and forget it initiative, you can schedule your batch of ePayments to process on a later date.
  3. Multiple policies – with the option to customize policies by group, you can ensure families are agreeing to only the policies that apply to their enrollments for a better parent experience.

If you are a Jackrabbit client and you are ready to start using these new features to save you and your team time in your day, partner with our Support Team through a Checkup Call to get started!
