National Gymnastics Day is a Celebration of an Awesome Sport

How are you celebrating?

What is this celebration all about?

National Gymnastics Day is a celebration of the sport of gymnastics that links everyone who loves gymnastics together. Be part of a large community with a common goal: promoting the sport of gymnastics and the benefits it brings to those who participate on many levels. This celebration is the perfect opportunity to share your gymnasts’ skills on the national level! And after you’re posted to the USA Gymnastics social media pages!

What is the USA Gymnastics Social Media Challenge?

The USAG wants to know too how you’re celebrating too!

In fact, the USAG gives you a great opportunity to win when you share. If you’re a gymnast, coach, gymnastics club – or if you’re simply a fan – celebrate gymnastics with USA Gymnastics through their #ShareYourSkills Social Media Challenge. Please take on this challenge!

The Social Media Challenge works by students, coaches, gym owners, and parents sharing the skills of their favorite gymnasts (in the form of an photo or video) using #NGD2017 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on September 16 in the #ShareYourSkills Social Media Contest. Share as many photos and videos as you’d like for your gymnasts to be considered, but all items must use the hashtag #NGC2017 to be considered valid contest entries – and they must be posted before 11:59 pm ET on September 16, 2017. If there are lots of submissions, there may be multiple winners!

This a great contest that links you with all of the people who love gymnastics across the country – including your friends at Jackrabbit!

What are industry peers saying?

Patti Komara, owner of Patti’s All American, “We love participating in National Gymnastics Day because it makes us feel a part of a global community and it’s just a darn good thing for our business!”

Elizabeth Hollenbaugh, assistant program director of Aim High Academy, “Aim High Academy is a non-profit gymnastics program that allows children to participate in the sport of gymnastics for about a third of the cost.  The area of Tulsa, OK that we serve is an under resourced area with a high pregnancy rate, low high school graduation rate and the high poverty rate.  Aim High has to raise the other two-thirds of the cost.  Thanks to the National Gymnastics Day grant, Aim High was able to offer scholarship money to those who couldn’t afford it.  We are very thankful to USA Gymnastics and the blessing they are to these children.  You have helped provide an opportunity for these children and brought happiness to the many faces we have grown to love!”
