Jackrabbit Technologies Sponsors Second Harvest Food Bank’s Sort-A-Rama Alongside Several of Charlotte’s Largest Employers

Jackrabbit Technologies is proud to be a Supporting Sponsor of Second Harvest Food Bank’s Sort-A-Rama.

“It’s exciting that we’re here together packaging meals for those in our area who are struggling with hunger. There is lots of positive energy in this huge space for helping out. Jackrabbit is here to be part of a solution,” said Jackrabbit Technologies CEO, Mark Mahoney, who was a participant on Jackrabbit’s event team.

Jackrabbit’s support for the community is strong

Jackrabbit Technologies isn’t a corporate giant like Food Lion, Atrium, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC or a large educational institution like UNC Charlotte, but its community spirit is mighty! Jackrabbit’s event team members each packaged more than 60 food boxes during the 3.5 hours of Sort-A-Rama. Closing out the final moment with 780 boxes filling 13 pallets, Jackrabbit proudly added its boxes to those of the other participating companies. Together the teams were able to package 8500 food boxes!

“We approach our community service participation with the same attitude as we approach our business – to be an agent of positive change,” adds Mahoney.

Jackrabbit is part of Sort-A-Rama’s comeback

In 2019, Jackrabbit Technologies participated for the first time in a live event as a Sort-A- Rama Supporting Sponsor.

2020 held challenges for everyone, but especially for Second Harvest Food Bank. In addition to a dip in donations and volunteering, the pandemic caused Sort-A-Rama to be cancelled to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. Participating companies, including Jackrabbit, maintained monetary contributions to benefit the organization’s initiatives for battling hunger in the metro area – whether it included participating in the event or not.

2021 brought the return of the event and Jackrabbit’s participation in it! Volunteers from participating companies and  Second Harvest Food Bank are empowered to celebrate and work together to make Sort-A-Rama the high-energy volunteering, team-building, and networking event it was planned to be.

The goal of Second Harvest Food Bank’s Sort-A-Rama event is to raise awareness about the mission of Second Harvest Food Bank while providing companies the opportunity to serve their community and take part in a fun team-building day.
