Jackrabbit Technologies Puts HR Policy In Place To Help Employees Experiencing Catastrophic Circumstances
Jackrabbit Technologies, leading provider of online class management software for children’s activity centers, including gymnastics and cheer gyms, dance studios, child care centers, music schools, swim schools and businesses offering combinations of these activities, has put a new HR policy in place to help employees facing catastrophic circumstances. The policy allows for PTO (paid time off) to be donated by fellow employees to the affected employee.
“Jackrabbit has several behind the scenes ways that we help employees when catastrophic illnesses – or natural disasters like storm and fire – strike . But putting this policy in place gives us an official stance on helping employees to help each other,” notes Tracey Chantry, Jackrabbit’s Human Resources Director. “We also hope to set an example for others in establishing this as an official policy. We think this is the best way that we can give team members a vehicle for helping each other in an invaluable way.”
Jackrabbit Technologies has a strong team focus. Despite the fact that the company operates in a virtual environment where employees work from their home offices, there is a strong culture of family and team that exists within departments and across the company.
“We know that some of the benefits that employees covet most are not those that dwell on pay but focus on more emotional benefits. This policy does both. It helps those in dire circumstances prevent some pay loss that result from catastrophic circumstances and it allows employees to give to each other under these circumstances,” said Mark Mahoney, Jackrabbit’s president and cofounder.
